According to Variety, Dracula Untold star Luke Evans and Resident Evil vet Milla Jovovich have signed on for the leading roles in the upcoming sci-fi action thriller titled, World Breaker. Production is expected to take place in Northern Ireland.
“Led by two of the strongest stars in the genre and under the direction of the uber-talented Brad Anderson, World Breaker is a must-have packaged movie with very strong universal commerciality,” The Exchange boss Nat McCormick said in a statement.
In addition to World Breaker, Evans is also currently attached to star in BBC One’s British drama series The Way, which hails from co-creator and co-star Michael Sheen. Meanwhile, Jovovich will next be seen in Paul W.S. Anderson’s In the Lost Lands and Stefon Bristol’s action thriller Breathe.
Who’s involved in World Breaker?
World Breaker will be directed by Brad Anderson (The Call) from a screenplay written by Joshua Rollins. It is being produced by Martin Brennan for 23ten, with The Exchange handling its international sales.
“The story centers around a father and his daughter,” reads the synopsis. “Five years previously, a tear in the fabric of reality brought creatures to our world from an alternate dimension bent on our destruction. The father hides his daughter on an island to keep her safe, while he prepares her for survival and the battles to come. But no place is safe.”
